Fall becomes winter

A review of the restaurant I am eating at tonight, by Stef W. on Yelp. Thanks, Stef W.

Let me take you back
To the year 2-0-0-2
Mie N Yu opened

I was here.  Often.
Smiling, flirting, shimmying
Sure!  Here’s my digits…

Bar was always packed
Older crowd with few Hoyas
And no popped collars

Magical decor
Arabian Nights.  Far East.
Not Georgetown, Toto

Laughter and mayhem
Distinct flavor in each room
Ample nooks.  Crannies.

Perfect for large group
What happens in private room?
Umm…I’ll never tell.

Solid downstairs bar
Wood, service and clientele
You’re a lawyer, too?

It had been three years
Since I walked through these silk doors
I change like seasons

Came here for dinner
Dramatic presentation
Meets ambivalence

Mie N Yu Dim Sum
Three different dumplings, sauces
Steamed and satisfied

Black bean, wonton shrimp
Was by far my favorite
Taste buds are content

Other two dumplings —
Wild mushrooms and scallops
So-so crab gyoza

Mie N Yu Pu-Pu
(Platter, that is.)  Tons of food
Markedly average

Each appetizer
Ran more than 25 bucks
Oh, this is Georgetown!

Always great service
Spencer picked a fine shiraz
Bold and red like me

I loved Mie N Yu
But now I just like it here
