Per Daily Kos’ Jeffrey Feldman diary (I have no comment one way or the other), posted by the Fmr. Speaker as he was visiting Auschwitz.

The past few days, I’ve been having polite but spirited debate with the most Republican friend I know, a kid who works on the Hill for some extremely conservative congressman. My friend is further right than I am left, which says something.

Anyway, last night we got around to the tone of the debate, and when I made the point that calling Sotomayor a “racist” was not the sort of high-minded judicial debate he ought to be proud of, he warned me against considering Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck — the people actually using the r-word, and not just hinting at it — the leaders of the GOP.

I love it when Newt Gingrich’s Twitter makes my point for me.
